Kombucha is a sparkling probiotic kombucha brand focused on health, wellness, and everyday refreshment. Rooted in Rajasthan, India, the brand brings together traditional influences and modern fermentation culture to create a beverage that’s as visually striking as it is functional.
Designed for a new generation of health-conscious consumers, Kombucha offers a cleaner alternative to sugary drinks—low-calorie, probiotic-rich, and naturally refreshing. The brand aims to make kombucha more approachable, culturally relevant, and exciting within the Indian beverage landscape.


Challenge
When Kombuchai approached Zaapr, they were entering a competitive and fast growing wellness beverage market dominated by minimal, often Western styled branding. The challenge was to create a distinctive kombucha brand identity rooted in Indian culture, specifically Rajasthan, without feeling dated. The brand needed to feel modern, funky, creative, and vibrant, while striking the right between heritage and contemporary design across the logo and packaging.
At the same time, the visual system had to work seamlessly across bottles, cans, and promotional materials, delivering strong shelf presence. Every design decision needed to communicate fun and premium appeal, while still reinforcing health, trust, and product credibility. Ultimately, Kombuchai required a cohesive brand system that could tell its story instantly, both online and offline.

Zaapr’s approach to the Kombuchai logo was rooted in creating instant cultural recall without visual clutter. We studied Rajasthan’s iconic elements—turbans, moustaches, desert forms, and architectural geometry—and distilled them into simple, playful shapes with clean lines. By abstracting tradition rather than illustrating it literally, we created a logo that feels rooted yet modern, expressive yet versatile, and strong enough to scale seamlessly across packaging, print, and digital touchpoints.




Packaging Design
The packaging became the heart of the Kombuchai brand. We designed two distinct yet cohesive visual systems—Dawn and Dusk. Both vibrant bottle and can label sets draw inspiration from illustrated desert skylines and architectural silhouettes rooted in Rajasthan, reimagined through a modern lens. The Dawn range uses lighter, sunlit tones to evoke freshness and vitality, while the Dusk range features deeper, moodier hues that reflect richness and depth. Warm, earthy tones were paired with funky, contemporary color palettes to create a visual language that feels both cultural and fresh. A clear hierarchy for product information, nutrition, and brand storytelling was carefully crafted to ensure readability and trust, resulting in packaging that delivers strong shelf presence while maintaining clarity and compliance.





Brand Collateral & Advertising
To extend the Kombuchai brand experience beyond packaging, we designed a range of collaterals and advertising assets that reinforced the visual identity across physical and promotional touchpoints. This included business cards and coasters that carried the brand’s distinctive look into everyday interactions, along with promotional posters and advertisements that translated the packaging language into bold, eye-catching visuals. Every asset was crafted to feel cohesive and scalable, ensuring the brand remained instantly recognisable and unmistakably Kombuchai across all mediums.

The Kombuchai brand launch delivered a visually striking and culturally distinctive identity that stands out in the Indian kombucha and wellness beverage market. Rooted in Rajasthan, the brand now features a recognisable and ownable visual language that feels modern, approachable, and premium.
The packaging clearly communicates health, flavour, and personality, while maintaining strong consistency across bottles, cans, and marketing materials.
